Shan tea is a Vietnamese local variety tea type and the ancient Shan tea plants are prized for the quality teas they produce.
The tea leaves are cared for by more than 2,000 ethnic highland people (Dzap, H’Mong) and cultivated according to Rainforest/organic standards to make the passionate fragrance and sweetness characteristic of the tea. The teas are not exposed to pesticides and fertilizers. The teas are processed by artisans with modern equipment imported from Taiwan and Japan. This tea is made using a steam machine (Japanese technology) and a rolling machine (Taiwanese technology).
