Huang Guan Yin (黃觀音) is a new developed Wuyi oolong. This cultivar was introduced in the year 2003 the by Fujian Tea Research Institute in the Wuyi mountains. Huang Guan Yin, which literally means “Yellow Goddess of Mercy”, is a cross between two famous cultivars; Huang Jin Gui and Tie Guan Yin. Different to most other Wuyi teas Huang Guan Yin is only light roasted over charcoal. Other common Names for Huang Guan Yin are Yellow Goddess of Mercy or simply no.105.

This is a beautiful oolong produced in the Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve in Fujian Province. It is specially made with the exquisite traditional Wuyi Mountain rock tea craft. The picking time is in late May each year. Its shape is tightly rolled, the colour is a lustre green. After brewing, the color of the tea is bright, yellowy orange, clear and flawless, with high fragrance and a smooth taste. A joy to drink.
